How to Create A Rectangle, Change Movie Background In Premiere

Posted in: Premiere, Tutorials

Someone entered Adobe-Masters.com for using the keyword phrase “how to create rectangle behind the video in adobe premiere”.

Actually, there’s already a rectangle that appears behind the video, and it’s black. One good reason to change what’s back there perhaps, is to create a different background look. How about simply adding color?

Adding a rectangle is one way to modify an Adobe Premiere movie background. To add a rectangle behind the video in adobe premiere, goto Title > New Title > Default Still. You’ll be prompted to name your new title. In this case, it’s okay to name it “Rectangle”, in which will appear as Title:Rectangle.

Next, you’ll need to access the rectangle drawing tool. Open up your Rectangle tool by visiting Window > Title Tools. Press the letter R, or click the rectangle to select it.

Now you’ll create the rectangle in the Rectangle title created above. Goto Window > Title Designer > Rectangle. Simply use your mouse to drag a new rectangle in the Title:Rectangle palette.

Congratulations on your new rectangle. Feel free to spruce it up using the title properties to add in color, or even gradients, strokes, size dimensions and more!

That’s all. Don’t forget to subscribe now for free site updates on adobe premiere tips.
