I’ve added such a background to a DaughtersKitchen.com page and will publish the steps it took to make it happen.  Below is a visual of the table background.  View it live on the Kindle Cooking Ebooks page.

Adding a Thick Pin Stripe Background to HTML Table - Dreamweaver

The food table I made in a previous tutorial is cool, but this time I wanted to have a different look.  I searched out design ideas and thats when I came across a free thick pin stripe psd download.  Grab the free download because here are the steps…

Step One:  Open the free dowload with Adobe Photoshop.

Step Two:  Edit the photo file to your own likings.  For the sample above I hid the blue background layer. This allowed the white background on the page to show.  Would you like to see how to hide layers in photoshop?

The second edit was to the text layer.  Adding text to a photoshop file can be as simple as 1-2-3, but for this particular example I changed the text from “THICK PIN STRIPE” to “KINDLE EBOOKS” along with the text colors for the new amazon kindle.

Step Three:  Save the photoshop file in .jpg format, then open dreamweaver to upload the image into the html table.

Step Four:  In this step, you’ll need to create a table.  Use the food html table tutorial for help with creating a table.  For this expample the table was created with two (2) columns and just one (1) row as a start.  Later, if you wish to add more content, you can do so at anytime buy adding addittional rows (or columns).

Step Five:  Lastly, Import the background image.  Just click the yellow folder icon in the “bg Image” field to locate the image you saved in step three.
