Here are the steps to making the the spry select work on the kindle page. See the dreamweaver help page for further assistance or feel free to leave a comment should you have a question.
Creating a New Page. Lets start right away by cranking up a new blank page in Adobe Dreamweaver.
Inserting Spry Select. Point your cursor where you’d like the put the spry select. Now click Insert > Spry > Spry Validation Select from the user menu.
Input Tag Attributes. For the sample or Buy A Kindle 2 Car Charger example I typed in “Payment” for both the label and class.
Add List Values. Click the “List Values…” button. This is where you’d add your selection items. In this case the payment selection items are Amazon.co.uk Mastercard, Visa, Delta, Electron, American Express, and Solo/Maestro. These options were added as Item Labels.
Up to this point you should have a result similiar to that of Gary R. Gilbert. That was the result I had too. It was only a drop down selection list. That’s when I realized that I needed a way to allow the user to acutally submit how they’d like to pay.
Insert a Submit Button. This leads us the the last step of adding a submit button. Goto Insert > Form > Button to get a new submit button. Type in “payment” for the ID. If you’re calling your ID a different name, be sure that it matches the Tag Attributes you entered earlier.
In this example, I changed the submit button to say “Go” instead of “Submit”. You can do the same by editing the “value” input after switching over to the Code View.
Insert the Form Action. When the user selects an option you’ll want some type of action to take place. In this case the user is redirected to the Kindle 2 Car Charger purchase page. Define the page you’d like your readers to visit in the form action field. Learn more about form action attributes at w3schools.com.
