Choosing A Layout. This particular template uses a 3-coloumn elastic layout very similiar to that used on the Visa Black Card template. Follow the Visa Black Card template tutorial to start your template, and the Discover More Card tutorial for other great tips.
I added color to the template’s body using one of my favorite dark color codes, #191919.
Finding Art Design. The background for the main content was added to the container but it took a few steps to get it there. First, I went searching for a free vector image and ran into a selection at honkiat.com. Then I ended up at qvectors.com downloading the urban vector.
You can choose the vector of your choice, but you’ll have to open them with Adobe Illustrator and transfer them to Adobe Photoshop to save it as a picture file. Visit the How to Save, Convert Illustrator AI Images for Dreamweaver article for more about that.
Working with the Sidebars. The dreamweaver software application makes it easy to work with sidebars. Sidebars are good for holding links and ads from adsense, Amazon, Commission Junction, Linkshare, LinkConnector, TMI, Commission River, or Chitika. When it comes to how the sidebar looks, you can do it all from the CSS styles window, as shown below…
Positioning text and buttons. I finished this template off by adding the “Hit the button to enter your name, address, and employer for approvals..” text, an apply button, and a few links. These items were placed inside of a AP DIV so that I can freely move and position them where I wanted them.
