Here’s a quick flash tutorial that was used for creating the flash 300×250 animation shown in this post.  If you click the link you’ll be able to follow the tutorial step by step.  The tutorial offers up the .fla source file towards the end of the page if you’d like to skip the steps.

It took me a while to get the source file working to depict some of the web hosting and online shopping cart banners, so here’s a few tips that can make it much easier for you.  Download the source file and use these tips in conjunction with the original tutorial.

• When you first open the file, you’ll be looking at photo 2.  Scroll further down the time line to edit photo 1.
• Import your own 2 photos to the library.
• Bring the movie clip version to the stage from the library, not the bitmap.
• Moving down the timeline, you’ll need to bring each photo to the stage more than one time, each with  a different color edit, see step seven on the tutorial link.
