I’m using a gift card background that I found here as a free illustrator vector. I’ve converted the gift card image to psd format for photoshop. The psd appeared better on the page than the eps illustrator file when I placed it into the indesign interface. BTW, indesign can import psd’s if you use the File > Place command, or CTRL + D.
Now after importing my psd image, I’m seeing that its much too large for the document as shown below…

How to Make Image Fit - InDesign Tutorials
It was good I stumble across this create fillable forms in indesign video. It was there where I learned how to make the image fit. The video shows alot, so you’ll have to pay close attention when you’re approximately 4 minutes and 36 seconds into the video if you don’t want to miss it.
The magic to making your image fit is to click Object > Fitting > Fit Content Proportionally, or Alt+Shift+Ctrl+E. Proportions will always correspond to another measurable characteristic. With that being said, draw out a frame like a rectangle, and be sure that you’ve placed the image inside of it. Otherwise the fitting won’t work. But an image place inside a frame and proportioned will look similiar to the following…
