This is a help guide for the Create A Textured Tag For Your Website tutorial at PSDTuts.com.

Why create a website tag?  I’m designing a html template for Adobe-Masters.com.  So far the header is done.  I like the look of the website tags, therefore I’ll be adding one to the background of the new template I’m working on that was obtained at TemplateWorld.

Tutorial Help Guide for Create A Textured Tag For Your Website

Step 1 only requires the creation of a site background in Adobe Photoshop.  I used the background that was provided with in the TemplateWorld files.  The background image was way off in size, so I did a resize using dimensions of 700 x 300 pixels.

Step 2 was not difficult at all.  I was a little concerned about pulling the corners, but the the Direct Selection Tool made the task easy.

Goto Window > Pathfinder to take care of Step 3.  Then Object > Transform > Rotate to satisfy the rotation instruction in Step 4.

I had a minor problem in Step 8.  I didn’t find a way to rotating the texture after pasting it into the main document.  As an alternative, I rotated the image before pasting it in.

I’d like to give some clarification about Step 9.  Clarification that I really needed.  Enter the “Path Paletted” by Windows > Path.  The tut instructed to make a selection of that path.  Actually, you’ll want to do more than just selecting it.  Right Click on your path, then choose “Make Selection”.  After selecting the path, goto Edit > Copy.  The tut wants us to delete the layer, but before doing so, goto Edit > Paste.  Deleting the layer prior to the paste made everything turn out oh so wrong!

The tag path pasted in nicely, however there was no whole.  If this is your case, please go back to Step 3 where you are supposed to select all and divide.

Step 10 through 15 was very easy to do.  We may need help with applying the pen tool in Step 16.  Feel free to comment.
