Many webmasters desire custom designed websites.  The best place to begin such a design is Adobe Photoshop.

How to Design A Website from Scratch, Interfacing In Photoshop for PSD

Set out to complete the nice “Fundamentals of Interface Design” tutorial to learn how to design a site from scratch. Its well written and very helpful.   As always, I the tutored, create the image or design and then blog tips on how to get through the tutorial.

So here goes my help guide…

Tutorial Help Guide for Fundamentals of Interface Design

The first 3 parts of the tutorial give a general overview and explanation of how to map out your ideas for your new site design.

The instructions in Part 5 seemed pretty foreign to me, so I looked at the pictorial view to decipher the goal of the drag, ctrl, and alt clicks.  In plain english, use the rectangle tool to draw in a footer at the bottom of the page.

So far, so good, as shown below…

Making Menu Icons

Part 6 requires some sketching and drawing paths.  This step is for the more experienced or someone with patience to figure it out, as the author kindly explains “I’m not going to cover how I made every single icon”.  This is where I had to stop and search for “Photoshop Menu Icons” help  that can greatly inspire the “How to Create Menu Icons In Photoshop” mission…

  3. It’s hard to determine what the best Joomla templates are without knowing what type of website you are running. There is a large database of templates available on the market today and narrowing it down to just a few would be impossible to do.

Depending upon your needs, templates come in all styles, varieties, colors, and themes. Templates are available in both the back end and the front end sides to your websites. The back end templates are what will determine the layout and style of what you, the administrator or editor will see whenever you log into your website. They will help you to stay more organized so that you can get your business done with ease. Front end templates are what will determine the layout and style of the website that your visitor will see whenever they stop by your page. This will be the most important because this template will represent you or your company and if your page is boring, the total number of hits could fall. http://businesstemplateworld.com
